about me I came to Hereford in March ´06 after completing a degree in product design at Cologne university, after falling in love with the beatiful countryside. Inspired by the rural life and the crafts in Herefordshire I decided to start my own company here. The first opportunity I´ll have to exhibit my designs will be the Hereford Craft Fair on the 8th of September in Hereford Hightown, from 9 am to
5 pm. Let´s hope the weather will be fine.

the designer As a graduate product designer I am also doing commissions. Please don´t hesitate to contact me if you wish to discuss any design solutions.

my inspiration Living here in the countryside with my boyfriend and his lovely family gives me the chance and the freedom to experiment and try out new ideas. My ideas start off at the computer, and a selection of these become models which are produced in the work shop.

materials I have always loved working with felt (look at my hair !!!). It is one of the most natural materials, and easy to work with. I started to make felt laptop bags as a student, and realised that people love this material with my colourful prints and straps on it. Espacially the contrast of this traditional warm material combined with bright coloures seem to atract people.

The boxes are more of a recent work which will be appearing for the first time at the exhibition. For the inner lining of the boxes I use 100 % wool felt coming in 7 different coloures.

the sheep eartag During creating and developing my ideas for my designs, our two lovley Suffolk Blackhead sheep, Jeffrey and Lisa, gave me the idea for tagging my felt products. Therefore each of them have their individual number - (like sheep!) and become 100% unique.

limited edition Having just started my business BAGSBOXES.CO.UK, I am presently working on the one bag design and one general box design, which have been produced by a local seamstress and carpenter respectively. Now that the design has been finalised, they are ready to produce the next batches when ready.
